Who are Hamilton Rose?

Hamilton Rose are UK tax dispute resolution and private client specialists. We have combined experience of 30 years dealing with potentially contentious situations with HMRC, from voluntary disclosures through to civil fraud investigations, including risk reviews of structures (primarily offshore trusts) and clients' UK tax affairs. We also have access to third party software that can identify a structure's UK tax risk exposure.

We recognise that this is often the first time that a client (or their adviser) has been in this position with HMRC and appreciate that it can be a nerve-wracking experience. We also understand how important it is to have peace of mind that matters are fully resolved and that your assets are protected.

Hamilton Rose will ensure that:

  • You are fully supported and protected throughout the process,
  • HMRC do not obtain information that they are not entitled to,
  • Any historical UK tax inaccuracies are fully resolved,
  • The process is as unobtrusive as possible, and
  • That your interests are best protected.

Once matters are resolved, we can also assist with any UK tax compliance obligations going forward to ensure that you remain fully protected against any allegations by HMRC.

Finally, we often undertake reviews on behalf of intermediaries to ensure that they can demonstrate due diligence in respect of their client base. This is especially important with the advent of "Failure to Correct" and the Corporate Criminal Offence for failing to prevent tax evasion, for which the adviser can potentially be held personally liable.

If you or your client are concerned that a UK tax irregularity may have arisen (or you just want a second opinion on matters), please do get in contact and we would be delighted to have a no-obligation discussion:
